Project: AEI provided all civil engineering to construct site work for a 55K sq. ft. Multi-Purpose Justice Complex in Maricopa, AZ. AEI provided construction documents as Civil Engineer of Record. The multi-faceted complex, joins together tribal courts, police, and detention facilities in one single-story. The L-shaped building contains distinct spaces for each department, while maintaining one central entrance lobby, as well as communal storage, and shipping facilities. The detention facility can house 36 adult prisoners, and also in a sectioned off area, six juveniles. Additional components of the detention facility include: a booking area, holding cells, kitchen and laundry facilities, classrooms, inmate property storage, and a medical examination room.
